Installations

April 2011: A Hereford Hoist for disabled sailors installed for North Hykeham Scout Group

We recently installed a Hereford Hoist on a pontoon that North Hykeham Scout Group ordered from us.

February 2011: A disabled hoist installed at Upton Warren Outdoor Education Centre

After using their pontoon system for the last few years Upton Warren Outdoor Education Centre wanted to increase the access to the pontoons by adding a disabled hoist and extending the main pontoon.

Because of the modular system of the pontoons the new parts were easily added in just an hour or so. The rigid surface of the pontoon and the addition of the Hereford Hoist means that the centre is now able to allow wheel chair users to access the water and all the fun that that entails.

Phil Ascough, the Head of the centre said “The new layout is great, a huge improvement on our previous disabled facilities.”

March 2010: four Hereford Hoist orders in the past month

In the last month The Pontoon and Dock Company have taken orders for four of their Hereford Hoists.

Share Holiday Village in Northern Ireland are due to take delivery of their hoist early next week, as are Cardiff Harbour Authority and the White Water Canoe Course at the new Cardiff International Sports Village. Finally the Conway Centre on Anglesey will be receiving theirs early in April.

Made from 316 grade stainless steel the hoist is suitable for use in any environment. A bespoke bracket is made for each installation so that it is possible to fit to any existing pontoon, whether it is made from wood, steel, concrete or plastic.

The hand operated hydraulics make it very easy to use, and it can be installed in such a way that it can be removed at the end of each session should theft and vandalism be matters of concern.
The hoist is certified to a Safe Lifting Weight of 127kgs, and conforms to all recent government lifting guidelines.

Most existing slings can be fitted to the hoist, alternatively we can supply you with a recommended sling.

Lead time is between 3 – 5 weeks, and the hoist can be supply only (with full instructions) or we can offer an installation service.
