Features
Unique Starwheel® self-propulsion system can increase productivity by up to 40%
It’s the Starwheels that make the Versi-Dredge different. On the surface, they act as paddlewheels, moving the dredge as a boat and making it ideal when dredging in floating materials, sludge and soft material bottoms. They can also operate as a positive traction drive system when put on the bottom. This means you can undertake dredging in gentle currents (4 knots or less) and wind (20 mph or less).
Lightweight and durable flotation system
The Versi-Dredge’s flotation system is designed to offer a lightweight but extremely durable system. It features:
- a compartmentalised catamaran-style hull for maximum durability
- steel construction with epoxy coating to minimise corrosion
- walk-on surfaces decked with a non-skid fibreglass coating for optimum safety.
Innovative and comfortable operating cabin
The operator station of the Versi-Dredge provides a comfortable, high visibility, efficient work area. All system functions are controlled from here. The station features:
- a fully adjustable seat with arm-rest mounted joysticks and fingertip controls for easy operator access
- a fully instrumented control panel equipped with an emergency warning system to monitor all system functions
- heating and air conditioning units are to make the weather-proof cabin comfortable in all conditions.
Reliable and efficient power unit
Versi-Dredge’s John Deere engine is designed to offer maximum reliability and efficiency. It features:
- variable displacement piston pumps to deliver the efficient hydraulic flow and pressure needed to perform in the most demanding conditions
- system functions controlled by fully-proportional, electronically-actuated hydraulic valves
- special filtering devices to maintain the quality of the hydraulic oil and fuel.
